A Compendium of Civil War Sites In Williamson County for Possible Battlefield Parks - A 2003 summary of known battlefield parcels that could be saved as Battlefield Parks and linked with an interpretative program
Franklin Battlefield Preservation General Timeline - a compilation of information from newspaper clippings, STFB newsletters, other historical sources to place the important milestones and turning points of the battlefield preservation journey here in Franklin. Hundreds of dedicated volunteers and donors have been part of this march over the past 150 years (a work-in-progress)
Archaeological Investigations on Roper's Knob a Fortified Civil War Site in Williamson County, Tennessee by Benjamin C. Nance - Test excavations on top of Roper’s Knob in northern Williamson County exposed Civil War period fortifications and features. The fortifications included a redoubt as well as the rare example of an excavated blockhouse. The investigations also uncovered evidence of a mid-1800s domestic structure likely occupied by the Roper family.
Summary Report of the 2014 Archaeological Investigation of the Carter Hill Cotton Gin Area - This 2014 dig at the cotton gin area is the one that did not find the gin foundation. However, it did find trench line segments and provided the clues of where to dig in the follow-on study that did find the gin foundation.
February 2005 Voter Poll - Civil War Preservation Trust funds a formal survey of 400 Franklin registered voters. 75% say City of Franklin should do more to preserve battlefield.
