How you can help

Save the Franklin Battlefield

Membership

Become an STFB member.  Print and mail in a membership application today!

If you are already a member, make certain you have paid your current dues - look for an expiration date on your newsletter mailing label.

Tell others about Save the Franklin Battlefield.  Give them the STFB website address

www.franklin-stfb.org or print and pass along the STFB brochure or contact us for copies.

Volunteer

Be an STFB volunteer.  There is much work to be done and we need your help.  Even if you can only spare a few hours a month, your efforts will be greatly appreciated.  Some of the regular tasks include:

  • Construct and publish the monthly newsletter

  • Assist with battlefield tours, events, and Civil War show sales.

The monthly STFB Board Meeting is held the second Monday of each month at the Heritage Foundation conference room located in the rear of the US Post Office at Five Points in Franklin, Tennessee.   This is a working Board Meeting to discuss the business and projects of STFB.  All members, prospective members, and interested parties are welcome to attend.

To volunteer or for more information, contact us.

Purchase

Buy books, maps, and commemorative items from the STFB Store.  Funds from these sales help finance STFB projects and activities.  Display the commemorative items to tell others about STFB.

Contribute

Contribute to our Land Purchase Fund.  The purchase and preservation of Collins Farm with funds from STFB members and other preservation groups is a recent example of what your contributions can do.  Purchasing battlefields that are threatened or have succumbed to development is difficult and expensive work - and we need your continuing help to pull it off.

Fund a Historic Marker.  STFB regularly places Historic Markers (about $1,980 each) on Williamson County battlefields.  The STFB markers are planned and designed in cooperation with the Williamson County Historical Society and other local historical groups, to ensure a uniform style and appearance.

Regardless of how you direct that they be used, your donations are tax deductible; STFB is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization.   Your donations will be acknowledged in writing for tax purposes.

Visit Franklin

If you don't live close enough to Franklin to volunteer, you can still send a powerful message to our local leaders as to the value of our Civil War sites by visiting Franklin.  Put Heritage Tourism into practice.  See our Visit Franklin page to help you plan your trip to Franklin.
